Let us start with the tools that I’m using for this site. First up, is a side-tool I used to make the Gif at the footer of this site; the cool dude (me) with the shades.
Piskel is a free online editor that lets you make frame by frame animations. Very intuitive and easy to use for the simplest sprite animation. You can design your frame elsewhere and import or just paint pixel by pixel in the editor itself, adjust the frame rates and watch the complete animation live in the mini preview window.
Here’s my gallery for public viewing. You can clone an existing sprite and modify it yourself.
Did you clone the cool dude? Let me know in the comments!
